direct debit v alternatives paying my octopus energy account

Main Post: direct debit v alternatives paying my octopus energy account

Top Comment: All energy companies do this, build up a balance because winter will be more expensive. It’s just easier for everyone to have a direct debit that’s the same amount every month

Antistasi v Direct Action v Dynamic Ops

Main Post:

Can someone describe in brief the difference between these scenarios? I'm trying to find the right single player scenario experience and having trouble deciding between them.

Guess I should also through in Whole Lotta Altis as well?

LATEST UPDATE: Thanks for everyones input, I've decided to go with KP Liberation as that ticked most my boxes. Its not as easy as the other ones because I need to host a private server to get it working for single player, but enjoying it so far! I'll no doubt return to Antistasi at some point as well as it's also right up there!

Top Comment: Dynamic Ops is a simple random mission generator, you can set it up to simulate pretty much any type of operation in any type of conflict you can imagine, using any gear or equipment, and play short hour long missions solo or with a small group of players. Antistasi is a huge complex open world guerilla warfare campaign that can last for months with dozens of players and hundreds of npcs. Start with Dynamic ops.

Direct Drive V Bowden Tube pros and cons?

Main Post:

I have my ender 3 pro printing near perfect and it’s using a Bowden tube setup I’m seeing a lot of people with the same printers switch to the direct drive style of extruder setup. What are the pros and cons of switching and since I have my printer printing near perfect should I even bother?

Top Comment:

If you're dialed in and everything is working great, I wouldn't mess with it. Save that upgrade for when everything has gone to hell and you're about ready to toss it out the window.

That being said, I would never go back to using a bowden. The path that the filament has to travel is so small that you get a higher accuracy of extrusion and retraction. You pay for it by having to go a little bit slower because of the extra weight on the gantry. I'm a proponent of quality over speed, so it's no big deal to me

Wheel on trainer v direct drive trainer feel/gearing

Main Post:

I just got a kickr to replace my saris m2. On the m2, I would use the small ring, low gears to establish a comfortable wattage for free rides on flat courses.

On the kickr, to get the same comfortable feeling on flat courses, I need to ride on the large ring and will spin out on on most of the gears while in the small ring.

I assume the difference is a result of how the drum on the m2 applies a lot of pressure. However, I did not realize the difference would be that dramatic. I could also just have the kickr setup incorrectly.

Anyone else moving from wheel on to direct drive have this experience?

Top Comment:

The direct drive trainer is probably much better at replicating the resistance that you would feel on the road. Is your gearing similar to what you would expect on the road? Moving from a dumb, wheel on trainer to a smart, direct drive trainer, i definitely found that i was using larger gears.

Getting v.redd.it direct links with imagus mod?

Main Post:

Hello, with the original Imagus extension I am able to long-press v.redd.it videos, right click and "open in new tab" or "copy link address" and get a direct link such as https://v.redd.it/uo1mlcbqyijb1/DASH_480.mp4#mp4 that are very handy for directly embedding into Discord channels and such, albeit without any audio, but that is fine.

I have just upgraded to the Imagus Mod, and v.redd.it links now have sound which is a great addition, however I am unable to right click and find the "open in new tab" or "copy link address" buttons since it opens a new player without those options. I am somewhat able to get around this still by inspecting element, which brings up this line here which for some reason is DASH_96 which is an abysmally bad quality link but I can replace 96 with 480 and get back to the same direct link as before.

Would there be any way to facilitate this process with the mod?

Top Comment: If you don't need sound, then you can just turn off the new player and go back to the old one. If you need sound (and the ability to download videos), you can use any download manager that can download videos in HLS/DASH format. For example, IDM (Internet Download Manager). It creates a download panel next to the video and there you can select the desired video quality. Then just look in the download properties for the source address.

Offaly v Antrim

Main Post:

Hello, I’m another tourist visiting from Scotland and I’m going to the Offaly game in Tullamore tomorrow.

I’d like to buy an Offaly jersey (the black goalie top is class). Will the Intersport Elverys in Tullamore stock this?

If I can’t find it I’ll order it online, but it’s only the two stripe version they’ll ship to the UK sadly.

Thanks!

Top Comment:

I would say either Elverys or Sports Direct would be your best bet. I haven't seen the black jersey around too often though but hopefully one of those places has one for you 🟢⚪🟡
